Sarma's Review page collects and redistributes the texts of an international handpicked core team of professional newspaper critics. Their writing encompasses reviews, small essays, interviews. Sarma provides a context in which this generic diversity as well as the polyphony of opinions and aesthetics can co-exist. For the reader this is a chance to read in conjunction texts otherwise scattered over a myriad of publications, some of which are hard to find.

The critics insert the texts written for their newspaper(s) right after composition into Sarma's database. They keep full editorial freedom/control. A special category is 'past critics'. It may include critics who are no longer contributing to journalistic media on a regular basis or critics who choose to single out a historical period of their work. As a result, Sarma operates as an archive for historical texts as well as a forum for actual criticism.

The texts appear in the original language. Translations, too, will be put on line, the possibility of which is dependent on the budget available and thus on the support of institutions, sponsors, etc.

More information on the contributing critics can be found on this page. In addition to a curriculum vitae and bibliography, all critics present a 'poetics', a text that highlights their view on criticism and art, and the specific context and practice of their writings. The introduction clarifies how representative the selection of texts in Sarma is in comparison to the entire body of their writings.

The writings of the critics can be accessed through the search form.
